NOLA FOR LIFE Reentry Strategy (RISE - Reintegration Services)

November 1st Releases Information: New Orleans Resources & Services

On November 1, the State will release nearly 1,400 Louisiana state prisoners due to a law taking effect in November that retroactively shortens criminal sentences. The change in law is a part of a larger overhaul of the criminal justice system. The City of New Orleans will welcome approximately 250 people and it is important that they are connected with the services and resources offered by the New Orleans Reentry Task Force.

Collaborating with a number of partners across New Orleans, the City’s Reentry Task Force has created the First Responders Committee of the New Orleans Reentry Task Force to meet their needs and connect them with case managers from a variety of organizations covering job readiness, workforce training, education, health, substance abuse and mental health. Additionally, the team will also have the ability to refer to the diverse network of holistic social service providers that are part of the Reentry Task Force.

The First Responders Committee of the New Orleans Reentry Task Force will be housed at the Probation and Parole Office (1641 Poland Avenue NOLA 70117). If you have any questions, please contact First Responder Committee Manager Kiksha Constantine at (504) 658-4991 or
