Serving the proud city of...
New Orleans, Louisiana

Brought to you by the Office of
Mayor Mitch Landrieu

STRATEGY

WE'RE SEEING EARLY SIGNS OF PROGRESS

Since taking office in 2010, Mayor Landrieu made public safety a top priority. The Central City target area went 230 days without a murder between March and November 2013 and over 140 days between November and April 2014, the Multi Agency Gang Unit indicted 106 gang members from 11 known groups in Orleans Parish and New Orleans had the lowest number of murders in 43 years.

We're implementing 35 initiatives under 5 pillars.

IT'S SMART. HOLISTIC. & HITS THE STREETS.

  1. Stop the Shooting
  2. Invest in Prevention
  3. Promote Jobs and Opportunity
  4. Get Involved and Rebuild Neighborhoods
  5. Strengthen the New Orleans Police Department

THERE IS NO CHALLENGE MORE URGENT THAN PREVENTING MURDER

Ending murder in New Orleans will not be easy and it won't happen overnight. Our city found or made a way when we've taken on tough challenges before and we must do it again. There is still so much work to be done and we need everyone to take a stand against the violence on our streets.
